Loose tile repair by injection
With injection, a loose bathroom tile can be securely reattached to the wall or floor. Injection is considerably more affordable and easier than replacing the entire tiling.

Service overview
Injection reattaches tiles back to their substrates. Epoxy adhesive is placed behind the tile, ensuring a strong bond to the substrate.
After injection, the tile is actually more firmly attached than it was with the original renovation mortar. Injection should be performed to avoid larger damages.
A loose tile on the wall can unexpectedly fall off, and a loose floor tile cracks easily. In both cases, repair work becomes more laborious and expensive.

More about loose tile repair
Injection is a method for reattaching tiles that have come loose from their substrates. In almost all cases, the cause of loose tiles is something other than moisture damage. Therefore, you don't need to automatically worry about water damage if loose tiles appear. Reattaching tiles through injection extends the lifespan of the tiling and is certainly cheaper than completely replacing the tiles. Injection should always be performed when there are loose tiles in the space and a new surface is being installed on top for some reason.
Most common causes of tile detachment
Construction error
The most common cause of tile detachment is an error during construction. Sometimes tiling is done on a wet base, where the substrate material has not yet reached its final form. When the substrate seeks its final shape and possibly moves slightly, tiles can come loose.
Mortar skinning
If too much time passes between spreading the mortar and placing the tiles during construction, the tile no longer bonds properly to the mortar. In this case, the tile may detach in situations where it otherwise might not have.
Sudden floor heating increase
If floor heating is raised directly to maximum after summer, the rapid temperature change, combined with weak adhesion, can detach tiles. Floor heating should be raised gradually to the desired temperature. We recommend spreading the temperature increase over five different days.
Poor silicone joint condition
Worn silicone joints that may have already detached from tiles allow more water than normal between the tiling and waterproofing. The more water gets behind the tiles, the more it erodes the adhesive mortar. Excess water also puts unnecessary strain on waterproofing.
Risks of loose tiles
Wall tiles that have come loose can fall off over time. In these situations, we always recommend securing tiles with injection, especially in homes with children.
Loose floor tiles crack easily when they are hollow underneath. In wet areas, a loose tile collects more water in the empty space formed under the tile, which also contributes to other tiles coming loose. Additionally, water accumulated under the tile puts extra strain on waterproofing.
Benefits and installation of injection
Reattaching loose tiles by injection is the safest way to fix the problem. If tiles were removed and reattached using the traditional method, there is a greater risk of waterproofing being damaged during the work. With injection, tiles are not removed and the floor/wall is not dismantled at all.
A hole is drilled in the tile grout during injection so that waterproofing and heating systems are not damaged. Through the hole, injection epoxy is pressed behind the tile, spreading under the detached tiles. The epoxy reattaches the tiles and the hole is patched with grout to match the rest. After installation, injected tiles are extremely firmly attached, so re-detachment of the same tiles need not be a concern under normal conditions.
The need for loose tile repair can be assessed during an assessment visit. By selecting the best injection epoxies on the market, we ensure the quality of the attachment. We use several different injection epoxies to ensure we select the most suitable product for each situation and project.
